On December 13, 2025, Seattle publisher David Toledo of VIBRANT ENTERTAINMENT & ARTS, a splashy, edgy full-color magazine, celebrated their 25th edition. VIBRANT had done favorable reviews of my novels, and I was subsequently invited to launch my newest title, Orgy at the Chinchilla Ranch. I finished the evening by reading my favorite piece, "What's Been Missing from My Life." In this poem, I chronicle my observation of the Water Babies class at my gym, and what I learned from their rendition of the "Hokey Pokey." See, the thing is, you can 1.) put your whole self in, 2.) take your whole self out, and 3.) shake it all about, but to correctly do the "Hokey Pokey" you have to turn yourself around because, apparently, that's what it's all about. And that's what my life had been missing.
